“Distant Voices” WW2 audio/visual exhibition opened with a ‘bang’ on the 70th anniversary of VE Day!
“Made in Tyne and Wear” TV came down to The Old Low Light Heritage Centre, on the fish quay in North Shields to film Jack talking about his experiences of VE Day 70 years ago and to me, about my exhibition.
91 year old Jack had a great day – meeting lots of people who wanted to shake his hand and have a chat.
As they sat and listened to the audio of Jack recounting memories from his time in Italy as a “D-Day Dodger” there wasn’t a dry eye in the exhibition space!
Have a listen to this 3 minute clip of the interview…. And if you are local to North Shields come and have a look!
It’s open 10-4pm (except Wednesday’s)
